FAQs

Can I put my piece in the dishwasher?

Yes! Just about all of my pieces are sturdy enough to handle a wash in the dishwasher. Specific pieces that may be more delicate will say otherwise in their description. As a preference, I do recommend hand-washing your pieces just so you can control how well you maintain the life of your handmade piece!

What can I use my piece for?

Be creative! One thing that I love the most is the use of my pieces in your everyday life! Bought a cup? Drink water in it everyday, or maybe switch it up from your tea routine and drink juice out of it! I promise it’s really fun to drink out of a ceramic vessel. So please use it for whatever you desire, as long as you use it everday!

What about the microwave?

Yes & no, just about all of my pieces can be put in the microwave, however some pieces with gold luster embellishments cannot be put in the microwave as the metallic gold can spark & zap right off!

How long does a piece take to make?

Timing is a tricky thing when it comes to ceramics. Especially if you are a one man show like me! I am at my wheel every single minute of the day trying to get orders out as fast as I can. Each piece is handcrafted from beginning to end, and there are many steps from start to finish that transforms clay into a useable object! It’s quite fascinating, possibly I’ll write a blog post about it soon!

How else can I care for my piece?

All of my ceramic pieces are made to withstand years and years of use, and hopefully will be passed down through generations! As a general way to maintain your pieces, I recommend washing them immediately when you are done using it. I get it, sometimes I don’t want to do my dishes either! Leaving your ceramic pieces in the sink every now and then isn’t bad, but overtime a piece can start to stain if it’s raw clay on the exterior and left unclean for a while.

Where is your clay from?

Some of my clay is ordered locally from Asheville, however other clays come from other parts of the country such as California or Pennsylvania.
